Terms of Service & Fair Use Policy
Welcome to RivetMC (rivetmc.uk). By purchasing or using our hosting services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy.
1. Service Overview & Pricing
RivetMC provides subscription-based Minecraft server hosting for $3.99 per month. Each active plan includes:
- 4 GB Dedicated RAM
- 15-Player Cap Limit
- 5 GB Metered Storage (Plugins, JAR files, Logs, Configs)
- Unmetered Primary World Storage (
world,world_nether,world_the_end) - Automated Java & Bedrock Crossplay Integration
- Free Custom Subdomain (
yourname.rivetmc.uk) - Maximum Hard Cap of 2 Free Backups
2. Fair Use Policy & World Storage
Primary world folders are exempt from the 5 GB metered storage cap to accommodate genuine long-term survival and SMP gameplay. However, users must adhere to our Fair Use guidelines:
- Unmetered World Boundary: Primary world files are unmetered for normal exploration, building, and player progression.
- Prohibited Storage Abuse: Intentionally deploying automated pre-generator scripts or bots to artificially pre-render extreme world radiuses (e.g., generating over 20 GB of chunk data without gameplay justification) is prohibited.
- General Quota Enforcements: Non-world assets (plugins, logs, custom JARs, extra uploads) count toward the 5 GB metered quota. Exceeding this quota may prevent new files or configurations from saving.
3. Backups & Data Retention
Each server receives a hard limit of 2 backup slots at no extra cost. Additional backup slots cannot be purchased. It is the customer's responsibility to manage these slots by deleting older backups to free up room for new snapshots. Customers are strongly encouraged to download local copies of important world files.
4. Acceptable Use & Security
Servers hosted on RivetMC may not be used to:
- Host, store, or distribute malware, unauthorized files, or dangerous software.
- Launch network attacks (DDoS), port scanning, or malicious exploits against our infrastructure or third parties.
- Attempt to bypass our custom proxy engine, auto-hibernation routines, or node resource limits.
Violations of these terms will result in immediate service suspension or termination without a refund.
5. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
Subscriptions automatically renew monthly via Stripe until canceled. You may cancel your server subscription at any time through your dashboard, and your server will remain active until the end of your prepaid billing period. Due to immediate automated resource allocations, refunds are not issued once a billing cycle begins except at our discretion during service outages.
6. Limitation of Liability
RivetMC is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for downtime, plugin conflicts, or third-party game update disruptions outside of our direct operational control.
